There’s one thing most people don’t seem to understand well and while this does not just make us trivialize our self and potentials in any set entity or venue we find ourselves, it also puts us in a spot of decadence towards our dreams and goals.
That is the fact that most people (in teams) think that a leader actually means someone who’s at the top or someone whose leading a set of things or an entity and this makes them think lesser of themselves hereby deteriorating their leadership prowess.
Even the dictionary supports this by defining it a leader as a person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country.
But how true is this fact?
The fact that a leader leads people doesn’t mean a follower cannot lead as well, the fact that Buhari is the President of Nigeria doesn’t mean that he should do all the leading, leaders need subordinates (those who’re under-studying them and developing their leadership skills as well) we can put wisely that is why there is Osinbajo (his vice) supporting him. This is not to say leadership deals with the political realms alone.
Most people (team workers) when asked what went wrong while on a mission mostly complain on the ineffectiveness of the rules they were given to perform by the leaders, but when asked what they did when this was noticed, they tend to bail themselves out of the question saying things like “we only followed the orders of our boss, we couldn’t have done otherwise”, “we only did what we were told to”, “we were not in the position to make rules/organizational roles for ourselves”
